A little on how I got into design...

I came to college in the fall of 1997 not knowing at all what I wanted to do. Art was the farthest thing from my mind. I had always considered myself a visual person, a trait I received from my mother who was both an architect and a painter in her life. Given that fact, perhaps I should have seen it coming. Still, I started as an undeclared major, a decision I largely regret, and would later switch majors three times before deciding on graphic design. As much as I disliked them, it was a general education requirement that turned me on to the possiblity of art in general.

That class, Foundations of Art, led me to become intersted in art as a major. The problem was I had no idea "design" exisited at the time. I thought anyone in art was either a painter or a teacher, both things I really didnt want to be. Then one summer I took my first photography course and absolutley fell in love with it. It was that class that turned me on to the possiblity of other roads to take down the path of the visual arts, and eventually led me into design.
